OUR STORY
Goldn started behind the chair, not behind a desk.
Before Goldn was a school, it was my salon. For six years I owned and ran a salon, and some of my favorite days were the ones I spent hiring and training new stylists fresh out of beauty school.
Over and over, I saw the same thing. Talented graduates from other schools had their license, but they weren’t ready for the real world. They had never done a real consultation, struggled to finish a service on time, didn’t know how to build a clientele, and had no idea how commission, booth rent or taxes worked. Most of what they needed, they had to learn on the job, and many talented stylists burned out before they ever got the chance.
I started Goldn Academy to close that gap. Here, students learn on real guests, use the techniques salons actually use, and graduate knowing how to run the business side of their career, not just how to pass state boards. I want every person who sits in a Goldn student’s chair to feel heard, seen and cared for, and every student to walk out ready for their first day in a salon.

Our mission is to give every student high-quality, up-to-date education plus the support and mentorship to launch a career with confidence. From real salon techniques to starting a business and opening your own salon, we’re here for you.
Hands-on from the start. Live demos, supervised practice and real guests on our clinic floor.
Small classes, real attention. One-on-one coaching and an instructor sign-off on every skill.
State board ready. Written and practical review, mock exams and help scheduling your tests.
Business and career launch. Taxes, licensing, a 90-day employment plan, portfolio and salon interviews.

Bronze I & II
Foundations & cutting
Infection control, hair and scalp, shampoo, blow-dry, braids, updos, then haircutting, clipper work, razor cutting and texturizing.
Silver I, II & III
Color, texture & extensions
Color theory, gray coverage, vivids, highlights and balayage, perms and relaxers, and certification in 3 extension methods.
Gold I & II
State boards & career
Written and practical review, mock exams, business, taxes and licensing, your portfolio and your exit interview.

Coming soon: a hybrid schedule, with 500 hours at the academy and 500 hours of guided learning from home, is pending approval from Utah DOPL. Ask about it on your tour.
